Mary Katheryn Tigner

Mary Katheryn Watkins Tigner, 82, of Bolivar, died Sunday evening, April 8, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.



The widow of Elmo W. Tigner, who died May 1, 2000 after 30 years of marriage, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Tigner was born April 24, 1924 in Litchfield, Illinois, daughter of the late Robert William Watkins and Amelia Sophia Smith Watkins. She was a member of Hatchie Baptist Church near Hornsby.



Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Prestage of Brighton, Christine Arnett of Hendersonville, Jeanie Simmons of Litchfield, IL and Judith Stewart of Fayetteville, NC; two sons, Michael and Ted Simmons, both of Litchfield, IL; one sister, Carol Lankutis of Litchfield, IL; one brother, William Lee Watkins of MS; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.



In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Tigner and two sisters, Dorothy Cancio and Edith Elam.
