She departed this life on February 28, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories.
On September 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles Robert Tibbs, who preceded her in death on March 2, 1992. Together, they shared a beautiful life, filled with laughter, joy, and many wonderful moments, including their triumphs as blue ribbon winners in the Waltz during their square dancing days.
Mary Lou dedicated 41 remarkable years to the Brown Shoe Factory in the pre-fit department, embodying strength and resilience in her work. She found joy in tending to her vibrant flower gardens, quilting, and enjoying heartfelt conversations with friends and family on the phone. Her kitchen was always filled with the delightful aromas of her cooking, as she took great pleasure in preparing meals for her loved ones.
A devoted member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer, TN, Mary Lou's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her kindness and friendship touched everyone she encountered, creating lasting bonds with family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
