Mary E. Haithcoat Thompson of Collinwood, TN was born February 7, 1931 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Martin Calvin and Ada Era Haddock Haithcoat. She was united in marriage to Charles Leon Thompson on February 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1994.
Mrs. Thompson was a retired cook, having worked at Pat's Place and Willard's One Stop. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Thompson departed this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 3 Months, 29 Days.
She is survived by a son, Charles (John) Thompson Jr. of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Judy Franks of Cypress Inn, TN, Pat Staggs of Collinwood, TN, Susan Weichselbaum of Mt. Home, AR; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by sons, Danny Travis and Anthony Martin Thompson; a sister, Ruby Pigg.
Services will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Sammy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler Grove Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Shannon Franks, Chris Franks, Eric Staggs, Jonathan Weichselbaum, Travis Thompson, Timmy Thompson, and Michael Thompson.
