Mary Joan Thompson

Mary Joan Pigg Thompson was born April 1, 1960 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late John William Pigg and Willie Isabell Scott. She attended the Conerstone Church and worked for many years in conveniece stores. Miss Thompson departed this life on November 30, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 62 years, 7 months, and 29 days.

She is survived by son, Jason Dewayne Pigg of Collinwood, TN; sister, Joy Wright of Waynesboro, TN; brother, Randy Pigg of North Little Rock, AR; grandson, Jacob Dewayne Pigg of Waynesboro, TN; special friends, Mary "Mert" Kephart, and Ashlynd "Al" Skaggs; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Miss Thompson is preceded in death by daughter, Jessica Ray Guarjardo; step-father, Willie B. Wilbanks; grandparents, William and Beck Scott, and Bessie and Ed Pigg; and siblings, Janet Coosenberry, Michael Pigg, and Johnny K. Pigg.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with burial to follow in the Jackson Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
