Mary Nell Scott

Mary Nell Scott, 82 of Middleton, passed away Tuesday, October 7 in San Antonio, TX. She was born February 4, 1926 to the late Ed and Opal Hillon McCoy in Rockdale, TX. She worked as a civilian telephone operator at Camp Swift in Bastrop, TX where she met her husband, William Carson “Cotton” Scott, whom she married in February of 1946. They moved to Hardeman County in 1960 where she operated a store for many years. Her family states that she loved animals and that she was a member of the Middleton Methodist Church. Her husband preceded her in death May 1, 2006Survivors include a son, Bob Scott of San Antonio, TX, a sister, Billie Jean Kornegay of Fort Worth, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
