Mary Avon Brown Phillips was born January 12, 1927 in Selmer, TN, the daughter of the late Evan and Edith Dickey Brown.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She worked for Walmart for many years in the arts and crafts department. She was a very outgoing person who loved people, flowers, sewing, arts and crafts, and most of all her family.
Mrs. Phillips departed this life on August 30, 2013 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 7 Months, 18 Days.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Sanders and wife Peggy of Selmer, TN, Randy Phillips and wife Suzanne of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren, Kelly Peters and husband Joe, Andie Sanders Kirby Dee Phillips and Trevor Millmeyer; three great grandchildren, Andrew Wheeler, Kyle Wheeler and Parker Wheeler; four brothers, James T. "Buddy" Brown of Stantonville, TN, Evan Brown Jr. and wife Jean of Stantonville, TN, Olan K. Brown of Stantonville, TN and Bobby Neal Brown and wife Laurie of Stantonville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs Phillips was preceded in death by her first husband, W. J. Sanders; her second husband, Glen Dee Phillips; a sister-in-law, Marie Brown.
