Mary Jo Patterson

Bartlett, TN: Mary Jo Patterson, age 66, passed away March 26, 2008, as a result of injuries received in the same accident which also took the life of her sister and best friend Shirley Elliott, of Selmer on March 27, 2008.
She was born in Finger, the daughter of the late Henry and Josie Wharton Vandiver. She was married to Ray Patterson March 1958. They made their home in Shelby County. She retired from First TN Bank as Central Teller and later worked at Care Stone Assisted Living and was a member of the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Millington, TN.
She is survived by a son, Stan Patterson (Deborah) of Bartlett; a daughter, Stephanie Patterson of South Haven; four grandchildren, Adriell and Josh Patterson, Kati and Dustin Staggs; a great grandson, Luke Stukenborg; a brother, Ronnie Vandiver of Finger and close friends, Richard Staggs and Bill Young.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Patterson in 1991 and a son Joey Patterson in 1995 and two brothers, Doug and Gene Vandiver.
Joint Funeral Services, with her sister, Shirley Elliott, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel, with Bro. Billy Robbins officiating and burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery in Chester County.
