Mary D. Park, 87, of Memphis, died early Tuesday morning, June 28, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
She was a Latin teacher in Memphis City Schools for many years. Miss Park was born September 12, 1917 in Rogers Springs, the daughter of Walter G and Ollie Hudson Park, and lived in Memphis most of her life. She was a member of the retired Teachers Association and was instrumental in organizing the teacher's sorority in the Memphis area. Miss Park was also a member of Audubon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of WMU.
Services were 2 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel with Roy Whaley officiating. Burial was in Old Enon Cemetery near Middleton.
She is survived by one sister, Fay Reeder of Sheffield, Ala.; one nephew, Johnny Ray Reeder of Warsaw, Virginia; great niece, Cameron Mothershead of Farnhamville; great nephew, Capt. Michael Reeder of North Pole, Alaska and two cousins, Carlene Vandergrift of Bolivar and Elizabeth Hudson of Memphis.
