Mary Nell Rankin

Henderson: Mary Nell Rankin, age 88, died April 27, 2006, at Ava Maria Nursing Home in Bartlett.
She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Thompsy W. and Jerry Key Brewer. She attended schools in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School, Freed Hardeman University, Union University and University of Memphis. She was married to Varnell Rankin in 1944. They made their home in Henderson where she taught school in Chester County and Madison County for some forty-seven plus years. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by two daughters Beverly Anita Rankin of Montgomery, AL and Sandra Jones of Bartlett; two grandchildren and one great grandchild and a sister Ruby Bailey of Pensacola, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Varnell Rankin in 1987.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday from the Chapel of Leon Johnson Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM Saturday until service time
