Henderson, TN: Mary Catherine Cory Morton, age 75, passed away January 12, 2012 at Saint Francis Hospital – Bartlett.
She was born in St. Paris, Ohio the daughter of the late Edward Thomas and Daisy Mae Rohr Cory. She graduated high school at St. Paris and graduated West TN Business College and Jackson State. She married Dell Morton 1954. They made their home in Ohio and she worked for Boeing Aircraft in OH, AZ and KS. They moved to Selmer where she worked for the Social Security Administration. They later made their home in Henderson and she worked for CitiPlate in Jackson for nineteen years where she retired as office manager. She also worked six years at Martha White as office manager in the distribution center. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist in Jackson. Mr. Morton preceded in death in 2007. Mrs. Morton moved to Lakeland in 2009 to make her home with her daughter Kim.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Nelson (Phil) of Lakeland and Lori Jayne Morton of Henderson and sons, Edward D. Morton (Beverly) and Vernon Lynn Morton all of Henderson; six grandchildren, Zack Morton, Brittany Foster, April Nelson, Haley Brown, Molly DiBiasi and Tim Barham; two great grandchildren, Lily and Jordan and a sister, Jane Keith of West Palm Beach, FL.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Morton in 1962, a sister, Alice Marsh and four brothers, Leo, Bill, Francis and Bud Cory.
