Mary Sue "Mama Sue" Pulse Mills, 76, of Walnut, Miss., died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
She was born the daughter of Jim Carl and Birdie Mae Dickerson Pulse in Hardeman County and had lived in Walnut, MS since 1975. She married Murray Millard Mills on June 7, 1947. Mr. Mills died February 24, 1997. She had been a member of the Pocahontas Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, but attended most services at churches where her brother, Rev. Jimmy Pulse was pastor. He died in March of this year. Mrs. Mills was a homemaker who loved her family greatly, but also fed many other friends and family and was always ready to sit, listen and help them with difficulties in their lives. Everyone called her "Mama Sue".
She leaves four daughters, Annette Hamilton of Memphis, Wanda Martindale of Walnut, Teresa Mills of Memphis and Amy Ross of Pensacola, FL; three sons, Mitchell Mills of Cordova, Murray Gene Mills of Arlington and Warren Mills of Collierville; one sister, Carol Ann Walls of Mayfield, KY; three brothers, Don Pulse of Bolivar, Steve Pulse of Middleton and Sidney Pulse of Memphis; nine grandchildren, Dennis Hamilton, Suzy Mullins, Sonny Roberson, Mitch Ross, T. K. Henry, Rachel Kirkland, Caitlin, Hannah and Ryder Mills; seven great-grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Madalyn, Marti, Ben, Sam and Caston.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy, Joe Ramer, Mack and Buck Pulse.
