Mrs. Mary Lou Miller age 85, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County Hospital.
Mrs. Miller was born March 18, 1928 in Decatur County, daughter of the late Ezra B. and Nellie Gibson Woods of the Jeanette Community. She was married to Willard Deming in 1944, they made their home in the Deanburg Community of Chester County. She would later marry Leo Miller and moved back to Decatur County’s Jeanette Community.
Mrs. Miller worked at Salant & Salant Shirt Factory in the 1950’s and 60’s. She became an accomplished seamstress, and fully enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Mary Lou was a wonderful, devoted mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law.
Mrs. Miller is survived by children Carolyn Deming Goff (Orban) of Henderson, Tennessee, Woodie Deming (Pam) of Jackson, Tennessee, Sylvia Deming Heard (Larry) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Ron Deming (Sandi) of McKenzie, Tennessee; a sister, Myrtle Ross of Rutherford, Tennessee; grandchildren; Legina Goff Henson, Molly Moore Veavey, Julie Moore Couch, John Deming, Joy Deming Stilen, Madison Deming, Bryan Melton, Michelle Deming Graves, and five great grandchildren, a special friend Imogene Hearn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Gertrude Oliver, Ola Mae Bawcum, and Wille Cross
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Johnson Chapel with burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery at Jeanette Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday
