Mary Martin

Mary Smith Martin was born October 17, 1922 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late William Oliver and Lela Kay Kirkpatrick Smith.She was united in marriage to Vernie Martin who preceded her in death on October 24, 2004.Mrs. Martin was a teacher in the McNairy County School System for 21 years. She was a member of the Maggie Jones First United Methodist Church and a member of the retired Teachers Association.She departed this life on August 15, 2007 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 9 Months, 29 Days. Mrs. Martin is survived by a son, Gilford Martin and wife Jane of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; three nieces, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.Other than her parents and husband, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Smith and Billy Smith.
