Mary Jo Hurst

Mary Jo Hurst departed this life on June 7, 2013 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 11 Months, 2 Days. She was born July 5, 1925 in Bethel Springs, TN the daughter of the late William Clarence and Mary Adeline Harris Johnson.She was united in marriage to Desmond F. Hurst on March 20, 1940. Mr. Hurst preceded her in death on April 13, 1999. Mrs. Hurst loved to sew, knit, and travel. She was a wonderful cook who made the very best pies and cakes. She was retired from Brown Shoe Company in Selmer.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by a sister, Blondell Johnson, and a brother, Harris Johnson.She is survived by nieces Sandy Young and Annette White; nephews, Eston Hurst, Albert Hurst, Johnny and Sue Williams, and Jerry and Gayle Williams; a brother-in-law, Parker Hurst; a special friend, Cindy Hickman. Also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
