Mary Elizabeth Howell

Mary Elizabeth Howell, 66, of Bolivar, died Friday, February 4,
2005 at Methodist Hospital North.
The wife of Dorris Gene Howell, who survives, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Howell was born June 12, 1938 in Hardeman
County, daughter of the late Wood T. Doyle and Martha Elizabeth
Stanley Doyle and lived here all of her life. She was described by
her family as a "top-rate mother" and was a member of Dixie Hills
Baptist Church.
Services were 4 pm Sunday, February 6 at Shackelford's Bolivar
chapel with Bertie Moore and Jimmy Garrett officating. Burial
was in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
In addition to her husband, whom she married December 24, 1955,
survivors include two sons, Ronald and Stan Howell, both of
Bolivar; two sisters, Sadie Downen and Linda Taylor, both of
Bolivar; two brothers, Forrest Doyle of Bolivar and Jr. Doyle of
Collierville; and four grandchildren, Joshua, Collin, Sydney and
Alyssa. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters.
