Mary Lois Horton

Mary Lois Reaves Horton was born June 27, 1924 in Lutts, TN, the daughter of the late James Robert Reaves and Lina Maybelle Vickery Reaves Brewer. Mrs. Horton departed this life on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 7 Months, 28 Days.

She was united in marriage to Edward Horton on March 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2009.

Mrs. Horton was a retired Inspector with Angelica Corporation at Collinwood Manufacturing. She was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, a Gold Star Mother and a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by son, Danny David Horton, wife, June of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Paulette Bratcher of Florence, AL, Jeanette Sherrill of Collinwood, TN and Deborah Faye Hester, husband, Jehu of Russellville, AL; grandchildren, Melinda Rogers, Charlotte Horton, Christopher Bratcher, Jeffery Sherrill, Jared Sherrill, Joshua Sherrill, Jordan Cummings, Erin Cooley, Nathan Horton, April Horton, William Hester, Summer Hester and Mollie Hester; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Edward Horton; brothers, Jay, R. B., Richard and Lee Warren Reaves and sisters, Ester Carlton, Josie Eveline Horton and Shirley Jean Clemons-Wisdom.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with John E. Banks and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Sherrill, Jared Sherrill, Joshua Sherrill, Nathan Horton, William Hester and Clint Rogers.
