Mrs. Mary Earline Henson, age 88 of Middleton, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday afternoon, September 4, 2014 at Bolivar General Hospital.
Mrs. Henson was born in Saulsbury, Tennessee September 29, 2014 to the late Tillmon and Lucille Davenport Earnest. On May 1, 1971, she was united in marriage to Archie Thurmond "Red" Henson, who preceded her in death May 4, 1994. A native of Saulsbury, she lived in Memphis for 37 years prior to moving to Walnut, Mississippi in 1980. She moved to Middleton in 1996.
She worked for 37 years as a machine operator for Firestone Tire and Rubber prior to retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters as well as with the Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Oakland Baptist Church while in Walnut, and later, she was a member of the Middleton First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was active in the Women's Missionary Union.
Mrs. Henson is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Minga of Senatobia, Mississippi, and Frances Rayburn of Sardis, Mississippi; a host of nieces and nephews; and her wonderful caregivers who took care of her over the last eight years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine West, Christine Clark, and Florence Earnest; and five brothers, Morris, Tillmon, Edward, Leo and Earl Earnest.
