MARY GALE HOWARD HARMON
was born in Kendrick, Mississippi on September 16, 1928 the daughter of the late William Henry and Mattie Lena Irvin Howard.
On May 11, 1946 she was united in marriage to C. D. Harmon, who preceded his wife in death on July 5, 2001.
Mary Gale was a Godly woman, who enjoyed sharing her Christian faith. She was a member of Pyburn Union Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and participated in many church activities. Mary Gale was multitalented including being an excellent seamstress, crocheting, quilting and embroidery. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening and sharing her bounty with family and friends. She was an avid reader and also wrote poetry. Mary Gale had an unconditional love for her family and served many years as a caregiver to many. She enjoyed cooking large meals and was an excellent cook. Everyone was always welcome at her table. Mary Gale's pride and joy was her grandson, Shawn.
She departed this life on April 2, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 17 days.
Mary Gale is survived by her two daughters, Glenda Gale Sullivan and her husband Jim and Rita Kay Webb and her husband James Robert, all of Savannah, Tennessee; one grandson, Shawn Daniel Sullivan and his wife Jean Ann and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rhoda White, Maggie Weaver, Zilphia Messner and Mae Wood O'Neal and brothers, Leonard, Roosevelt, John, Edd, Raymond and Homer (Boots) Howard.
