Mary Mackie Clark Geater, 78, of Saulsbury, formerly of Memphis, died Monday, April 3, 2006 in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She was born in Saulsbury on February 3, 1928, daughter of the late Rufus and Fronie Leadford Clark. Mrs. Geater was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Walter A. Geater, Sr. in April of 2001. She lived most of her life in Memphis and retired from National Bank of Commerce in 1990 after 35 years. Mrs. Geater and her husband retired to Saulsbury where she lived until she moved to Troy, Mich. to live with her son Walter A. (Andy) Geater, Jr. and his family in September 2004. She was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher at National Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis and First Baptist Church of Middleton. She was also very involved in the Baptist Women’s Circle. She leaves behind her son Andy (wife Donna); son Steven Mark Geater (wife Cindy) of Bartlett and daughter, Doris Ann Bramlett (husband Bart) of Oakland, Tenn. She leaves seven grandchildren and four great granddchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 7 at the First Baptist Church of Middleton with burial in West Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Robert Tyson and Dr. Eric Taylor will officiate the service.
