Mary Rachel Gatley

Rachel Goodwin Gatley, age 88, died Sunday morning, July 8, 2007 at Chester County Healthcare.
Mrs. Gatley was born and reared in Chester County, the Cabo Community, the daughter of the late Jessie Warren and Lessie Ann Miller Goodwin. She attended schools at Cabo and in 1941 was married to Raymond Kirk Gatley. They lived all their married life in the Sweetlips Community of Chester County. Mrs. Gatley worked at Salant and Salant from 1948 to 1976 and then worked in the cafeteria at Chester County High School from 1977 until she retired in 1987. She was a member of the Sweetlips Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son Jerry Gatley and wife Kathy of Henderson. She has three sisters; Bertha Tedford on Jackson and Johnnie Smith and Jo Ann Fowler both of Henderson. She has a grandson Kevin Gatley and three great grandchildren; Daryl, Falon, and Alec Gatley.
Mrs. Gatley was preceded in death by her husband Kirk Gatley in 1996 and a grandson Stacy Gatley in 1993.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday from the chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Tyler officiating and burial will follow at Sweetlips Cemetery.
