Mary L. E. Garner

Mrs. Garner was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Rev. Lester Evans Burkhead and Alma Francis Cupples Burkhead. She attended Chester County Schools and in 1929 was married to Joe Clifford Garner. They made their home in the Hickory Corner Community, living on the same farm all their married life. Mr. Garner preceded in death in 1995. Mrs. Garner was a member of the New Home Baptist Church.



Mrs. Garner, the last of nine siblings, is survived by a son Alfred Garner of Finger, and three daughters; Jessie Lee Rowland of Henderson, Ann Morrison of Henderson and Peggy Whitman of Finger. She has 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson Darrel Whitman.
