Mary Ellen Butler

Mary Ellen Butler, some knew her as Tinsie or Sis, was born May 8, 1934 in Iron City, TN the daughter of the late John Henry and Bulah Wade McGee Butler. Mary was a homemaker who loved washing dishes and raking leaves. She was a faithful member of Collinwood Freewill Baptist Church. Miss Butler departed this life on July 5, 2023, in at the age of 89 Years, 1 Month, 27 Days.

She is survived by a sister, Bonnie Lee Butler of Collinwood, TN, a host of nieces and nephews along with many special friends and family members.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, James Wesley Butler; sisters, Bulah Kelley, Amelia Stooksberry, and Dorothy Ware.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

 Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery  with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

Pallbearers include Randy Butler, Ricky Butler, Ronald Butler, David Stooksberry, Gentry Todd-Hart, and Toney Todd.
