MARY CONNOR COFIELD
Jackson: Mary Magdalene Connor Cofield, age 83 passed away May 18, 2018 at Brookdale Jackson Oaks.
She was born September 15, 1934 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Linnie Reed Connor. She went to school in Chester County and graduated high school in Arkansas City, Kansas, and attended Memphis Christian College and received her two year general degree. She worked in the Bible Book Store in Memphis as manager. In 1981 she was married to Vaughn R. Robbie Cofield. They moved to Chester County in 1981. She was Director of the Chester County Senior Citizens Center. She went to Texas in 1980 and earned her Property Management Certification and then worked as manager of the Henderson View Apartments as its First Property Manager, retiring in 1986.
She loved growing flowers and loved nature in general and she was very devoted to her family.
Mrs. Cofield is survived by two daughters, Kathy Lynn Medlin (Marlin) of Jackson and Vicki Lee Carpenter (Eddie) of Foley, AL; a stepdaughters, Charlene Johnson of Shawnee, OK; three grandchildren, Terry Carpenter of New Orleans, LA, Joseph Carpenter (Kathleen) of Holly Springs, MS and Jessica McClintoc (Justin) of Jackson, TN; five great grandchildren, Hayden Carpenter, Kane Carpenter, Madelyn Carpenter, Harlei McClintoc and Mason McClintoc and two sisters, Linda Young of Henderson and Nancy Kinchen (Neal) of Sweetlips.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vaughan R. Robbie Cofield in 2014 and a brother, Ralph R. Connor.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday May 21, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue beginning at 11:00 AM Monday until service time.
