Mary Jean Bevis

Mary Jean Franks Bevis was born on August 30, 1943 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Henry and Lucille Price Franks.

On April 6, 1963, she was united in marriage to Gene Edward Bevis, who preceded his wife in death on July 12, 2019.

Mrs. Bevis worked for Savannah Manufacturing Company for over 30 years and as a machine operator at Angelica Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. Mary enjoyed working with all kinds of animals and loved her little dogs, Brunie and Cookie.

Mary Jean Franks Bevis departed this life on July 29, 2022 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 29 days.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda Stricklin and Vickie Rose, both of Savannah, Tennessee and brother, Randy Franks of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Gene Edward Bevis, Jr.; sisters, Geraldine Alexander and Joyce Copeland; and brothers, John H. Franks, Jr. and Earlon Wayne Franks.
