MARY LOUISE BARNES
Finger, TN: Mary Louise Newsom Barnes age 84 passed away November 4, 2014 at the Day Star Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Cairo, IL.
She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Louise DeVore Newsom. She attended schools in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School. She was married to H. DuWayne Barnes in 1946. They made their home in Henderson from 1946 until 1975, where she operated Klip & Kurl and later Hi-way Hair Fashions and retired in 1981. They made their home in Finger since 1975. She taught at Jackson Beauty Academy for 8 ½ years.
She was a member of the Finger Baptist Church and a member of the Henderson Eastern Star where she had served as Past Worthy Matron.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by three grandchildren, Thomas Barnes of West Frankfort, IL, Michelle Autry of Richmond Hills, GA and Stacy Ice of Pulaski, IL and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold DuWayne Barnes in 1998; a son Michael Barnes in 2006 and a granddaughter, Tina Barnes French.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bobby Bray officiating and burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday.
