Mary Christine Allen Walker

Mary Christine Sweat Allen Walker, 85, of Rogers Springs, died Sunday morning, March 18, 2007 at her daughter's home in Jackson, Tenn.
She was the daughter of the late Homer and Virda Robertson Sweat, living all of her life in the Rogers Springs community. She served as Postmistress from 1968-73 and was co-owner of a grocery store with her husband, Neely Earnest "Bud" Allen, until his death on August 19, 1973. She married Elmond Lynn Walker on January 18, 1975. He passed away January 11, 1990.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Rogers Springs Church of Christ for many years. Her relationship with all of her grandchildren was "her passion."
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wilbanks of Rogers Springs and Betty Peevyhouse of Jackson; a sister, Essie Hammons of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Tammy Decatur of Lester, AL; Michael Wilbanks of Rogers Springs, Bo Peevyhouse of Brentwood, TN, Mary Beth Peevyhouse of Jackson, Ken Allen, Jr. of Portland, TN, Jeff Allen and Lisa Cannon, both of Whitehouse, TN and Lori Allen of TeHeran, Iran and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Leon Allen, Sr. in 1994; a sister, Vadell Gardner and a brother, Otis Sweat.
She was the daughter of the late Homer and Virda Robertson Sweat, living all of her life in the Rogers Springs community.
