Marvin L. Vincent, 86, of Bolivar, died Friday, March 3, 2006 at Humboldt General Hospital.
The husband of Sue Emerson Vincent, who survives, he was an office manager at Bolivar Electric for 20 years. Mr. Vincent was born December 16, 1919 in Saulsbury, son of the late Marcus Leon Vincent and Ola Jacobs Vincent. He served in the U.S. Army in Artillery during WWII with a tour in Normandy and at the Battle of the Bulge, earning seven battle stars. He was a member of the VFW, a charter member of Hardeman County Golf and Country Club and a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.
Services were 2:30 PM Monday, March 6, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Dr. Ernest E. James and David Cooper officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Bolivar.
In addition to his wife, whom he married January 28, 1949, survivors include two daughters, Susan V. Smith of Florence, KY, Debbie V. Chapman of Conyers, GA and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Herman and Hansel Vincent.
