Marvin Wesley Sims

Mr. Sims passed away Sunday night, March 14, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.



The husband of Carole Bailey Sims, who survives, he was a farmer. Mr. Sims was born October 7, 1947 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Ethel Josephine Porter Sims and the late Wyman Sims. He served in the US Army in Vietnam, was a member of the Middleton American Legion, and very patriotic on both national and local levels. Mr. Sims moved to Hickory Valley in 1984 and was a member of West Memorial Baptist Church.



In addition to his wife, whom he married December 31, 1998, and his mother, survivors include a daughter, Jola Michelle Tillman of Tecumseh, OK; two sons, Craig Dalman Sims of Tecumseh, OK and Clifford Sims of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, Linda Berg of Meadow Grove, NE, Kathy and JoAnn Sims and Cindy Rose, all of Oklahoma City, OK; a brother, James Sims of Noble, OK; two stepdaughters, Emily Neyman of West Memphis, AR and Adele McCord of Bolivar; two stepsons, Chris Herring of Edmund, OK and Aaron Wilson of Bolivar; and nine grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded by a brother, Keith Sims.
