Martin Lee Harben was born October 25, 1931 in Hornsby, TN the son of the late Roy Everett and Amy Verna Martin Harben.
Mr. Harben attended, played football, and graduated from the Knoxville School for the Deaf. He loved to joke around with people and enjoyed having a good time. He retired from Brown Shoe Company and then went to work at General Electric retiring in 1993. He was a member of the The Springs United Pentecostal Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. He also worked for several years with the Military Education Programs of America, Youth Cadet Progam, and taught sign language class at his church.
Mr. Harben departed this life on January 2, 2013 at his home in Michie, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 2 Months, 8 Days. He is survived by his son, Wylie Lee Harben and wife Lisa of Guys, TN; six grandchildren, Heath Rebstock, Heather Hayes, Holly Crum and husband Jason, Ginna Black and husband Zach, Wylie Harben Jr., T.J. Harben; six great grandchildren, Jackson Hayes, Luke, Jacob, Gracie, and Jayden Crum, Zachary Alexander Black; son-in-law, James Rebstock of Michie, TN; two sisters, Mary Ann Blankenship and husband Bobby of Guys, TN, Barbara Gray of Guys, TN; a brother, Roy Marland Harben and wife Frances of Guys, TN; host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Fannie Mae Harben and parents, Mr. Harben was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Rebstock; a brother, Robert Wylie Harben.
