Mr. Martin “Scotty” Chandler, age 50 of Whiteville, died at his home on Wednesday evening, April 22, 2015.
Mr. Chandler was born on in Bolivar, TN, to the late James Edward Maybury and Martha Jean Staggs on Wednesday, March 24 1965. He worked as a carpenter and sub-contractor. He was a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church in Bolivar and graduated from Bolivar Central High School in 1983. A man who loved being outdoors, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf, and NASCAR. Mr. Chandler served his country in the National Guard for 18 years. He had lived all of his life in Hardeman County, including the last 23 years in Whiteville.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Chandler of Whiteville; daughter Nina Keenum of Whiteville; grandchild, Cameron Keenum; sister, Becky Benard; brothers, Craig Chandler of Brownsville, Carson Chandler of Virginia Beach, VA; Terry Maybury of Medon, TN, and Jerry Maybury of Beech Bluff, TN; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by family members: Ricky Chandler, Keith Chandler, David Chandler, Kelly Galigher, and Kawanna Allen.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
