Martha Price

Martha Jane Pierce Price, age 67, passed away Tuesday morning at Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville.

Mrs. Price was born in Jackson, the daughter of the late James Guylie and Algie Leona Cox Pierce. She worked as an apartment manager most of her adult life, living in Tennessee, Nevada, Mississippi, Florida, and Virginia. She mentored others in management. She retired in 2014 and moved to Jackson, TN. She was a very colorful person, full of life, and enjoyed music and dancing. She married Rolland Price January 26, 1986. He passed away September 10, 2006. They were married twenty years.

She is survived by five sons; Art Price, Joseph Price, Mike Price, John Price, and Darrell McCoy, two daughters; Theresa Holmes and Brandy McCoy, two sisters Gracie Jordan and Shirley Garrett, 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and one on the way.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue Chapel with Pastor Bill Sims officiating burial to follow at New Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday.
