Mrs. Cole departed this life on Saturday morning, September 24, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Hardeman County to the late Benjamin Hollis Majors and Liza Miranda LouDella Bass Cole and lived most all of her life here. Additionally, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry "J. O." Cole; three sisters, Ivy McKee, Lizzie Tranum and Opal Smith; and five brothers, Wilburn, Dallas, Carl, Gaylord and Paul Majors.
Mrs. Cole was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bolivar where she participated in all church activities especially in the "Operation Christmas Child" shoeboxes. She has always been a shining light for Christ and had an unwavering love for God and her family.
She retired from Master Slack in Bolivar on May 21, 1996 as a garment quality inspector following 29 years of service. She also had worked part-time for Mr. Charlie Denton at Kahn Brothers clothing store in Bolivar.
Mrs. Cole had a green thumb for growing plants. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and crocheting. She was always looking for new craft ideas she could make for her friends and loved ones. She also enjoyed watching and feeding her birds especially hummingbirds.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Cole and his wife, Wanda, and James "Butch" Cole and his wife, Michelle, both of Bolivar; five grandchildren, Jamie Cole (Dana) of Arlington, TN, Tina Lowrance (Wallace) of Safford, AZ, Fabian Cole of Erin, TN, Leah Nuckolls (Jim) of Bolivar and Eric Cole of Bolivar; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Cole of Middleton, Macie Nuckolls, Mollie Nuckolls, Mitchell Cole, Josh West and Ryan Hale, all of Bolivar and Brody Cole of Erin, TN; four great-great-grandchildren, Naomi and Bransen Cole, Adalynn and Dessie West; and three special friends, Mary Nell Rinks, Brenda Pirtle and Debbie Watkins.
