Mifflin, TN: Martha Wilson Jones age 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born and reared in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Hugh Wells and Georgia Armstrong Wilson. She attended schools in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School in 1944. In 1966 she became licensed as a Practical Nurse and was employed by Jackson General Hospital and later by the Lexington Hospital. Martha married Clint Jones in 1984 and they made their home in the Mifflin community. Mrs. Jones retired in 1989 after 30 years of nursing. Mr. Jones passed away in 2000. Mrs. Jones loved playing Wii-Bowling and playing cards with her friends at the Chester County Senior Citizen Center in Henderson. She was a member of the Sunset Chapter #154 of the Eastern Star in Lexington and also a member of the Mifflin Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane Millspaugh of Jackson, Judy Phillips of Germantown and Denise Jones of Lexington, a brother Paul E. Wilson of Jackson, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great- great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parent and her husband Clint Jones, a son George Marcom, a daughter Mary Ann Pritchard and two brothers Hugh W. Wilson and Billy Joe Wilson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Rev. Dennis McMahon officiating. The burial will follow in the Mifflin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Casey Chapel.
