Eleanor Gurley was born October 3, 1925 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late James C. and Beulah Russom Rowsey.On February 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to James C. Gurley who preceded her in death on October 28, 1980.Mrs. Gurley was a sewing machine operator at Corinth Manufacturing. She was a member of the Harper Road Christian Church for 40 years where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. She was affectionately known as "MissEllie".She departed this life on April 10, 2007 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 81 Years, 6 Months, 7 Days. Mrs. Gurley is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Gurley Calvary and husband Melvis of Corinth, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Martha Little of Rienzi, Mississippi and Carol Troxell and husband Ron of Corinth, Mississippi; four great grandchildren, Amber Scott of Rienzi, Mississippi, Meagan Rhode, Joshua Troxell, and Kayla Troxell all of Corinth, Mississippi.In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Gurley was preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Derek Little.
