Martha (Marti) Ruiz Carsten

Martha (Marti) Ruiz Carsten, 71, of Savannah, Tennessee, recently succumbed to Pancreatic cancer on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Marti, born September 25, 1951, in Hughes, Arkansas, grew up in Paulding, Ohio, lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before settling in Tennessee. Loving wife of the late David Carsten (Mr. C), daughter of the late Espetacion (John) and Carmen Ruiz. Marti was a retired owner and broker from Crye-Leike Realty, Pickwick office. She actively volunteered for her church and was instrumental with the development of the Hispanic Ministry (St. Mary's, Savannah, Tennessee). She also volunteered with cultural adaptation within the Hispanic Community throughout the region.

Marti is survived by her three children, Shannon Clevenger Drake, Matt Clevenger, and Cecilia Clevenger; grandchildren, Eli Rainey, Jacob Rainey (Father Paul Rainey), and Carsten Drake (Father Brandon Drake); siblings, Daniel Ruiz (deceased), David Ruiz (deceased), Irene Perez, Connie Meine, Joe Ruiz, Louise Zimmerman, Cecilia (Sally) Foelber, Maggie Pffeferkorn, Lanni Connelly, Terri Smith, John Ruiz, Paul Ruiz, and Elida Sorg.
