Martha Lee Gipson Borden

Martha Lee Gipson Borden of Collinwood, TN was born April 10, 1944 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Velma (Bud) Yapman Gipson and Nora Skimehorne Gipson.

Ms Borden was a retired housekeeper at YMCA, Florence, AL and departed this life on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 6 Months, 2 Days.

She enjoyed cooking, cross stitching, crocheting and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Galelus Wayne Borden and wife, Kim of Iuka, MS; a daughter, Andrea Leigh Garrison and husband, Todd of Leighton, AL; grandchildren, Madison Borden, Mollie Lindsey (Bruce), Katie Garrison (Jamie), Natalie Garrison and Maliha Garrison; a brother, William Earl (Bimbo) Gipson of Waynesboro, TN; two sisters, Frances Skillern and husband ,Charles of Collinwood, TN and Pat Hackett of Felix, MO and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms Borden was preceded in death by her former spouse, Wayne Borden; two brothers, Harold and Buddy Gipson; three sisters, Myrtle (Pete) Ray, Flora Prince and Ruby Gipson and her in-laws, Robert and Margie Borden.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Steven Turnbow officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceburg (Wayne County), Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 1 pm to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Prince, Dewayne Prince, Chris Dillon, Kenric Gipson, William Paul Gipson and Jamie Files with honorary pallbearers being Jason Hester and Johnny Woodruff.
