Henderson: Martha A.G. Weaver Maness, age 97, died March 19, 2009 at her home.
She was born and reared in Chester County, Hickory Corner Community, the daughter of the late Orphs H. and Maude Burkhead Weaver. She attended school at Hickory Corner and in 1929 she was married to Robert Lee Maness of Hickory Corner. They made their home in Hickory Corner Community where they farmed. She became the Grandmother of Hickory Corner known by all the school kids in that community. She was an avid gardener and flowers. She sewed and quilted and loved all the things around the farm. She was a member of the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Maness and wife Pauline of Henderson; two daughters, Bonice Martin and husband Billy and Erma Lee Morris and husband Leonard all of Hickory Corner; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; one sister, Tressie Martin of San Publo, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Maness (1992); a brother, Cecil Weaver and three sisters, Juanita Chappell, Dorothy Catalina and Caron Yarbrough (2008).
