Marlene Pipes departed this life on Monday, February 8, 2016, at the age of 80 years, 11 months, 23 days. She was born in Decatur County, Tennessee on February 16, 1935, the daughter of the late James Robert and Velma Lee Mayo Wyatt. On December 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Charlie "Tinker" Pipes, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2014.
Marlene was a homemaker and had also worked for the Hardin County Board of Education as a cook. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed attending New Harmony Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Anderson and Janet Oxley and husband, Bo all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jennifer Durbin and husband Wes, Philip "Bump" Oxley, and LeeAnn Shelton and fiancee Robert; great-grandchildren, Shelby Durbin, Carter Durbin, Charlize Shelton, Wyatt Shelton, and Gracie Oxley; sister, Cathy McPherson and husband, Harold of Bartlett, Tennessee; brothers, Joe Wyatt and wife, Joyce of Picayune, Mississippi, Roy Wyatt and wife, Judy of Parsons, Tennessee, Jerry Wyatt and wife, Barbara of Hernando, Mississippi.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, James Pipes and Joel Pipes; and grandchild, Fonstanda Oxley.
