Markus Dee Tidwell

April 12, 1950 — February 6, 2025

Adamsville, TN

Markus Dee Tidwell, affectionately known as "Papaw," was born on April 12, 1950, in Morris Chapel, Tennessee, to the late James Golbert Tidwell and Demetra Wade Tidwell. He was a dedicated self-employed Backhoe and Dozer Operator, as well as a Cattle Farmer.

As a member of the Landmark Pentecostal Church in Stantonville, Tennessee, Markus found joy in his faith and community. His passions were as vast as his heart; whether hunting, fishing, or riding horses and dirt bikes, he embraced the beauty of the great outdoors. Cooking was also one of his beloved pastimes, where his culinary creations brought family and friends together in warmth and laughter.

Markus will be remembered not only for his countless talents but for the kindness he shared and the family bonds he nurtured. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who loved him.

Mr. Tidwell departed this life on February 6, 2025 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 9 Months, 25 Days.

He is survived by his wife Georgana Seaton Tidwell; daughter, Deana Tidwell Milford (John); son, Will Tidwell all of Adamsville, TN; five grandchildren: Demie Banks (Dakota), John-Tyler Milford (Mikayla), Jake Tidwell (Kayla), Tanner Tidwell (Natalie), Mallorie Tidwell; two great grandchildren, Elsie Tidwell, Isla Tidwell and expecting a Baby Girl Banks.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tidwell was preceded in death by a sister, Loudean Gattis; a brother, Billy Joe Tidwell; four nephews: Anthony Tidwell, Keith Tidwell, Jeff Gattis, and Chris Gattis.
