Mark "Sarge" Kevin O'Brien

On Monday, February 24, 2020, Mark “Sarge” Kevin O’Brien, loving partner and father of three children, passed away at the age of 60. Mark was born on June 12, 1959 in Chicago, IL, to Dr. Raymond A. and Lois (Boyles) O’Brien.

After graduation from Dorman High School of Spartanburg, SC he joined the United States Army where he served for 20 years and earned the Bronze Star.

Mark had a passion for traveling and reading. He also loved to go to the races. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. One of his closest buddies was his dog “Dusty”.

Mark was preceded in death by his father Raymond, mother Lois and son Joshua. Mark is survived by his partner of 15 years Constance Harris, his two children Jennifer and Kyle. His granddaughter Lana Piper Howell. His sisters Glennis (Roger Webb), Kathie (Ron Fedele), Susan (Scott Williams), Wanda O’Shields and brother Bryan O’Brien. His step mother Frances O’Brien, step father Hampton Wade O’Shields, step brothers Roman (Sue) Keating, Charles (Theresa) Keating, step sisters Carol (Robbie Johnson), and Mary Keating. He has several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
