Marion James Kirby

Marion James Kirby Marion James Kirby was born on January 7, 1945 in South Carolina to the late John David Kirby and Avie Pearl Wright Weaver. He peacefully departed this life on September 16, 2023 in Byhalia, Mississippi at the age of 78 Years, 8 Months, and 9 Days.

On February 1, 1965, Marion was united in marriage to Mary Ann Bright. He was Baptist in belief. He dedicated many years of service to Memphis Light, Gas and Water in the maintenance department before retiring.

Marion had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and riding four wheelers. However, what warmed his heart the most was spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Mary Kirby; three sons, Marion Dewayne Kirby and wife Tini, James Anthony Kirby and wife Amy, Christopher Allen Kirby all of Byhalia, MS; a sister, Katherine Jones of California, ; a brother, Allen Kirby; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Caysi (Justin), Calvin, William (Shelby), Grayson (Brooke), Kayla (Brandon), Lawson; eight great grandchildren: Gunner, Rowan, Montgomery, Bryson, Ayra, Julie Ann, Lycia, and Anthony; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Wilbanks; a brother, Larry Kirby.
