Marie Blanton Sweat was born May 7, 1926 in Stantonville, Tennessee the daughter of the late C. E. and Modena Jeannette Wright Blanton.
She was united in marriage to Clyde Sweat.
She was affectionately known as "Mama Ree", to her family. She had been a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church since June 28, 1976.
Mrs. Sweat departed this life on June 10, 2008 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 1 Month, 3 Days with her niece, Scarlet at her bedside. She is survived by two sons, Ernie Goff and wife Amanda of Lewisville, TX, Jacky Goff and wife Nannette of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Nell Howard of Michie, TN, Jewele Howard of Michie, TN; five grandchildren, Brian Goff and wife Whitney of Denton, TX, Mark Goff and wife Kathleen of Lewisville, TX, Natasha Powell and husband Brent of Brandon, MS, Gosta Graham of Corinth, MS, Justin Goff of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five great grandchildren, Blake Powell, Mattie Frances Powell, Ainsley Marie Goff due in October, Jade Harville and husband Chad, Lindsay Graham; two great great grandchildren, Rylan Harville, Walker Harville; niece, Scarlet King of Jackson, TN; special friend, Uncle Bob Newton of Jackson, TN.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sweat was preceded in death by a grandchild, Lauren Goff; a brother, C. E. Blanton Jr.; a sister, Emma Raines.
