Marie Sells

She was born and reared in Chester County, the County Line Community, the daughter of the late John Scudder and Viola Holder Shelton. She attended schools in Chester County and Pinson High School. She was married to John Gilbert Sells in 1939. They made their home in many places in the states while John was serving in the Army. He returned from Germany after being injured and they made their home in Oak Ridge where Mrs. Sells worked along with her husband in the enriching of Uranium 238. After retiring from the Civil Service they returned to Chester County, the Friendship Community and made their home there. During the winter they lived in Arcadia, FL and since 2002 they lived in Chester County all the time. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.



She is survived by her husband John Gilbert Sells of Henderson; two sons Donnie Sells and wife Harriet of Jackson and Ronnie Sells and wife Eulena of Henderson; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; and also a sister Joan Allen of Hickory Withe, TN.
