MARGUERITE SMITH MOORE
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 13, 1917 the daughter of the late Osbin G. and Jessie Farris Smith.
On June 1, 1940 she was united in marriage to Roger W. Moore, who preceded his wife in death on April 28, 1987.
Mrs. Moore retired after 31 years as a teacher for the Hardin County School System. She was a member of Hardin County Retired Teachers Association, Tennessee Retired Teachers Association, National Education Association, American Association of Retired People and member and chairperson of Crump Senior Citizens. Mrs. Moore was a member of Crump United Methodist Church where she served as church secretary for over 35 years. She enjoyed traveling and retired teachers activity. Mrs. Moore liked reading and visiting the sick in nursing homes and hospitals. She also enjoyed doing her church work which included, being trustee, teacher and church historian and she enjoyed being Lambuth College Representative.
Mrs. Moore departed this life on May 1, 2013 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 18 days.
She is survived by her children, Juanita White of Memphis, Tennessee and Roger K. Moore of Baker, Florida
6 grandchildren, Mundy Moore, Laurel Pala, Jessica Stooksbury, Zachery Moore, Blake Moore and Scott Moore
2 great grandchildren, Dalton Stooksbury and Riley Stooksbury
one sister, Mildred Byram of Huntsville, Alabama and three brothers, Osbin E. (Sonny) Smith of Germantown, Tennessee, John R. Smith of Highland, Indiana and Kenneth Smith of Savannah, Tennessee
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Ronnie E. Moore, one brother, Milas Smith and three sisters, Polly Kennard, Mae Erwin and Merlee Cardwell.
