Margie Byrdwas born in Rossville, Georgia on July 3, 1932 the daughter of the late William Claude (W.C.) and Geneva Estella Skinner Kinsey.On July 21, 1950 she was united in marriage to Homer Ray Byrd, who preceded her in death on March 18, 2003.Ms. Byrd worked at Pickwick Southside School in the cafeteria. She had devoted her life to taking care of her handicap daughter, Loy Gail. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking large meals for her family and friends. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.Ms. Byrd departed this life on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the age of 76 years, 1 month, 29 days.Ms. Byrd is survived by her daughter, Loy Gail Byrd of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons: David Byrd and his wife Paula of Counce, Tennessee, Jonathan Byrd and his wife Scarlett of Dublin, Georgia; a brother: Don Kinsley of Bonner Springs, Kansas; 3 sisters: Betty O. Quinn of East Tennessee, Peggy Barlow of Counce, Tennessee, and Shirley Grant of Flovilla, Georgia; a half-sister: Evelyn Alloy of Boulder City, Nevada; 2 grandchildren: Amy Byrd and Rebecca Byrd.In addition to her husband and parents Ms. Byrd was preceded in death by a half-brother, Wiley Wilson.
