Margie Bell Porter Burnette

June 2, 1932 — July 12, 2024

Saulsbury

In loving memory of Margie Bell Porter Burnette, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who departed this world on July 12, 2024, in Bolivar, Tennessee. Margie was born on June 2, 1932, in the serene of Middleton, Tennessee. She was a compassionate individual who dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Western Mental Health Institute before her well-deserved retirement in April 1994. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her career as she wholeheartedly embraced the role of a homemaker.

Margie will always be remembered for her love of gardening and flowers, finding solace in the blossoms she tended to with care. Alongside her passion for nature, she found great joy in studying the Bible and strengthening her faith. Her unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. Margie cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A deeply spiritual woman, Margie was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church where she found community and solace. Her profound faith in the Lord shone through in all aspects of her life. She touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity; offering prayers that were undoubtedly felt by those fortunate enough to know her.  She loved her family and was the  best Mama & Granny.  She also was "Granny" to many who were not kin, but she loved them just the same.  She loved the Lord above all and has longed for heaven for some time now.  She was very strong in her faith and when she told you she was praying for you, she definitely would.  She was an inspiration to those who knew her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished by her surviving family and friends: Glen Burnette & Tammy of Saulsbury (son), Mark Burnette & Carol of Saulsbury (son), Paul Burnette of Saulsbury (son), Lisa Burnette Hunsucker of Middleton (daughter), Misty and Sandy Burnette (daughter in laws), Zueline Porter Brooks of Pocahontas (sister), along with 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Margie is now reunited with her beloved husband Robert Stanton Burnette in eternal peace. She also joins her sons, Neal Burnette, Larry Burnette, Ronnie Burnette, Ken Burnette, son-in-law David Hunsucker, Cecil Porter (brother), Jamie Porter (brother), Bo Porter (brother), Willie Mae Lanier (sister), Lillian Lanier (sister), Phyllis Hillhouse (sister), Thomas Brandon Burnette (grandchild) who have gone before her.

As we say our goodbyes to Margie Bell Porter Burnette, let us hold dear the memories of her kindness and unwavering faith. May she rest in eternal peace knowing she was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by hers.
