Margaret Nell Scott

February 11, 1930 — September 13, 2023

Selmer, TN (Lawton community)

On September 13, 2023,  a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so  many passed away to her heavenly home. Margaret Nell Scott, born on February 11, 1930, in Stantonville, TN, was the beloved daughter of Alfred and Faye Christopher Davis.

In April 1971, Margaret embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship when she married Aaron Scott. Though her beloved husband passed away on April 11, 1994, their bond and memories remained etched in Margaret's heart.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Scott dedicated herself to her work and communities. She worked diligently as an inspector for Harwood Shirt Factory and also contributed her skills to Automotive Fabrics. Additionally, she found solace and strength in her faith as a devoted member of the Hickory Flatt United Methodist Church in Hickory Flatt, Tennessee.

Mrs. Scott had an incredible zest for life and took joy in simple pleasures. Quilting was one of her passions, weaving threads into beautiful creations. Her hands were equally adept at making delicious jellies and canning nature's bounty. A cherished pastime was watching Praise Night and marveling at the beauty of hymns echoing through her home. Nature blessed her with countless precious moments; she delighted in feeding and watching birds while tending to her flourishing garden filled with vibrant flowers.

One could always sense Mrs. Scott's warmth by witnessing her special bond with Chief - a faithful companion belonging to her grandson Cody. Each day, Chief faithfully visited her, greeted by his doting granny with a treat.

Mrs. Scott peacefully departed this world on September 13, 2023 at the age of 93 years, 7 months, and 2 days. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kaye Inman and Tammy Naylor, both residents of Selmer, TN. Her adoring grandson Cody Inman will forever treasure the bond they shared. She also leaves behind two sisters, Betty Duck and Peggy Lard, both from Adamsville, TN; loving step grandchildren, Scott, James, Amber, Julie and Stacey Chriss all of Vancouver, WA.

In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind a large extended family and a host of friends whose lives she enriched with her kindness and love.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her son, Ray Naylor; four sisters: Dorothy Tedford, Marylene Kopp, Virginia Davis, and Shelby Kennedy; stepdaughter Sharon Chriss; step-granddaughter Debbie Chriss.

Memorials may be made to: Freedom River Media , PO Box 10 Savannah, TN 38372.
