Mrs. Greene passed away Tuesday morning at Bolivar General Hospital.
The wife of Jake Greene, who survives, she was a homemaker. She was born July 4, 1934, in Paris, to
Noble and Katie Sager Melton, grew up in Paris and lived in Middleton for approximately 30 years. She was
a 1952 graduate of Grove High School and was known for her great cooking. She loved to sew, making
pageant and wedding dresses, but especially loved to be a grandmother. Mrs. Greene was a member of
Paris 1st Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, whom she married on August 23, 1952, survivors include five children, Pam
Jackson (Joe) of Middleburg, Florida, Nicky Greene of Middleton, Teresa Morrison (Tom) of Collierville,
Greg Greene (Michelle) of Middleton, and Kris Barron (Brian) of Collierville; a sister, Shirley Sliger (Kenny)
of Paris; eight grandchildren, Marshall Jackson, Lesley Beck, Nicole Thomas, Bryce, Jordan and McKinley
Morrison, Zack and Tyler McKee; and five great grandchildren, Kaylie Jackson, Dean Austin, Ty Thomas,
Emily and Annabelle Beck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James
Melton.
