Marene McCombs

Enville, TN: Marene Harwell McCombs, age 82, died May 26, 2008 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.She was born and reared in the Enville area of McNairy County, the daughter of the late Thomas Manley and Vera Marie McCoy Harwell. She attended schools in the Enville Community. She was married to Vernon Ray McCombs in 1942. They lived most of their married life in Grenada, MS and after retirement moved back to the Enville Area. They were active members of the Emmanuel Baptist Church while in Grenada. She was actively involved with her husband in the McCombs Ice Cream Company. After returning to Enville she was a member of the Enville Baptist Church and active participant in the Enville Baptist Women’s Ministry.She is survived by her husband; Vernon Ray McCombs of Enville; a daughter; Judy McCombs Rechtfertig and husband Gary of Dallas, TX; two sons, Stan McCombs and wife Betty of Headland, AL and Steve McCombs and wife Tonia of Cartersville, GA; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; and a sister, Mable Allen of Memphis. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Murrel Harwell and Faye Harwell.
