Marcus Lester Tucker

Marcus Lester Tucker departed this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the age of 81 years, 8 months, 1 day. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 13, 1934, the son of the late Martin Lee and Nancy Covey Tucker. On September 8, 1952, he was united in marriage to Shirley Baugus, who survives.

Marcus Lester had lived in Hardin County most of his life and had worked for Brown Shoe Company for 17 years as a foreman. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was of Baptist belief.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Tucker of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Robin Renee Simmons and her husband, Shane of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Miles Lee Tucker and Alex Bearden; great-grandchildren, Darby Grey Tucker and Miles Logan Tucker; brothers, Jerry Tucker and Bobby Tucker both of Savannah, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Logan Tucker; a sister, Kate Berry; a brother, Johnny Tucker; and his step mother, Fannie Belle Tucker.
